Newbridge & TeleHub Form Joint Venture.

Canadian based Newbridge Networks and Illinois based TeleHub Technologies Corporation has decided to combine forces. Newbridge is an industry leader in multi-service, multi-access wide area networking (WAN), while TeleHub specializes in control software called Virtual Accesss Services Platform (VASP). The two companies have pinpointed a growing market segment to penetrate and have therefore created a company called Terabridge Technologies to exploit the gap. The gap the new alliance hopes to aggressively attack is the asynchronous transfer mode market. They believe that by providing switches that enable broadband transmissions to be switched at any given point to optimize the route form begin node to end node, that significant increases in savings and revenue generation can be achieved. This new switching technology combined with the control and protocol software from TeleHub is designed to eliminate the need for dedicating lines for these types of broadband transmissions.

Neither company has a significant investment or infrastructure in class 4 narrowband switches so the move is ideal for meeting the needs of the world for supporting the high speed demands of a broadband network comprised of integrated voice, data, and video.
